The ultimate goal when sending your outgrown kid's clothing to Seams Karmic is to cash in on every item placed in the Closet Cleanse bag and when you closely follow our list of what we accept, you should earn every penny your bag is worth. Occassionally, however, some items sent just don't make it past our quality assurance checklist and for those few items, we've created NICE SEAMS!
NICE SEAMS! is an optional donation program exclusively for Seams Karmic members who choose to use our Closet Cleanse service to clean out and cash in on their outgrown, nearly new children's clothes. We refer to these valued members as our selling members. The NICE SEAMS! program offers an additional way to put the selling member's item(s) to great use. It is a service dedicated to donating, on behalf of our members, clothes that can provide warmth and solace to children in need. Donated items are entered into the program at the request of the selling member should any item(s) sent to us via their Closet Cleanse bag not meet our Quality Standards for payout and resale. This request is made directly on the envelope the bag is mailed in prior to the selling member sending the bag back to us for quality assurance and payout.
NICE SEAMS! is a program that developed through years of exposure to the great need of decent clothes for at-risk, underprivileged children. Our CEO has spent years volunteering with different nonprofit organizations committed to bettering the lives of young children through support and outreach programs. She volunteered and worked in at-risk schools as a mentor and instructor. She walked for causes supporting the development of programs meant to encourage healthy growth and education for youth. She witnessed first-hand, the need for more community support and care for today’s underprivileged youth. While in the school system, she witnessed young kids wearing the same clothes to school day after day and has seen children miss days of school to avoid being bullied because they wear the same tired looking clothes.
NICE SEAMS! was created to provide a simple way to involve our Seams Karmic community in donating to a cause that affects us all; every state, every walk of life, and every creed. If children are our future, then we should try to help them succeed in the present any way we can. So we developed an optional program that would help disadvantaged children get the clothes they need while, at the same time, passing the credit (and good karma) on to our Seams Karmic selling members.
After extensive research and many interviews, Seams Karmic chose to partner with 'Note in the Pocket', a qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose sole mission is to provide clothing for impoverished children. With the help of 'Note in the Pocket,' we are able to maximize our members' donation(s) impact by delivering donated kids' clothing to an organization with enough connections in the community to affect the lives of hundreds of children (and rising) each week. Having a donation partnership with a qualified nonprofit organization also enables us to donate on behalf of our selling members and then deliver back to our members a donation tax receipt.

Though 'Note in the Pocket' is local to our headquarters in North Carolina, the need for decent clothes for less fortunate children is not just a local issue, it is everywhere; but we must begin somewhere. As the program grows, Seams Karmic will seek ways to branch out to other children’s outreach organizations that provide clothing assistance in larger cities and/or service on a national level in an effort to help our member community increase the number of children’s lives they can affect for the better. As a community, we can help a child grow and succeed one shirt at a time.
